EDUCATION
Gujarati School Our vision for the School is that the teaching and outcomes should be of same comparable standard with that of mainstream school. The Gujarati teaching should support pupils to maintain their language skills, increase their Hindu cultural heritage and develop their distinct identity as members of wider community.
GHU Gujarati School is part of Crawley Community Language Network. Teachers (Chetnaben Mistry, Dhiren Kateria, Ashwin Soni) attended 10-week course to improve their teaching skills.
We offer 3 classes – entry level (taught by Ashwin), intermediate level (Dhiren) and examination entry (Chetnaben). There is considerable variety of language competency and needs within each group. Within the higher group several pupils have entered for GCSE examinations and for the first time this year two pupils have entered for A levels.
This year we have 45 children registered and room for more. Classes are open to all children aged six and above irrespective of their culture or religious background. Come with your child and see what we do or give Ashwin a call for more information (07801045481).
We continue to look for teachers or helpers for Gujarati School. Please let Ashwin know if you can support on paid or voluntary basis.
